erik kessels’ new book ‘in almost every picture 7’ contains a life seen from the point of view of a fairground shooting gallery
a 16 year old girl started shooting in 1936 and received a picture (which gets automatically taken) every time she shot a bird’s eye… she turned out to be very good and has collected them every year since (only the second world war years are missing) the book was presented last night in ‘foam’ and erik kessels invited the shooter: ‘ria van dijk’ (now aged 88 and still shooting) along to tell her story, the series is on one level very simple and unremarkable and yet on another level fascinating to see…
