illegible typography, multi-layering of forms and coded messages are all legitimate methods to attract attention in a poster design; i.e. make the type difficult to read and challenge the viewer to decode the message… however this particular poster for the ‘nederlands kamerkoor’ gives me the impression that the designer has simply created a flawed design… the typeface is in itself very illustrative and just doesn’t survive when placed on a dappled pattern such as that particular image… shame
